Dried Fruit – vital for vitality!

People have been drying fruits for thousands of years. We use lots of different dried fruits, in our Spoff cereals because we are mad about their flavours, health benefits and nutritional qualities! Many of the fruit we use are organic, keeping much more characteristic flavours of fresh fruit than those with added preservatives.

Dried fruits are typically high in fibre and complex carbohydrates and contain many of the minerals and vitamins necessary for vitality and life.

Dried fruit contains more calcium and fibre per 100 g than equivalent fresh fruit because it is a concentrated version. And most dried fruit naturally have a low glycaemic index – helping you to feel fuller longer!

Our personal favourites are dates - nature’s candy - but with a healthy dose of fibre, dried apples which contain small amounts of vitamin C, B vitamins and the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc and selenium, and of course berries.

Remember a bowl of Spoff in the morning, with some fresh fruit on top will start off your day the “Five a day” way!
